U.S., Six Arab States Denounce Iran's 'Reckless' Strikes

(MENAFN) The United States, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates issued a sweeping joint condemnation Sunday, denouncing Iran's wave of drone and missile attacks across the region as reckless and wholly unjustified.

In a strongly worded collective statement, the seven nations declared that "these unjustified strikes targeted sovereign territory, endangered civilian populations, and damaged civilian infrastructure," framing Tehran's actions as a direct assault on regional stability.

The coalition characterized Iran's offensive as a "dangerous escalation," warning of severe consequences for civilian safety and regional security infrastructure already strained by days of relentless military exchanges.

Striking a defiant and unified tone, the bloc declared: "We stand united in defense of our citizens, sovereignty and territory and reaffirm our right to self-defense in the face of these attacks."

The signatories also highlighted the critical role of coordinated air defenses in limiting the human cost of the strikes, stating: "We remain committed to regional security and commend the effective air and missile defense cooperation that has prevented far greater loss of life and destruction."

The joint statement emerges against a rapidly deteriorating backdrop. Since Saturday morning, US and Israeli forces have conducted a sustained campaign of strikes against Iran, killing Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and eliminating numerous top-tier Iranian security officials — a historic blow to Tehran's leadership structure.

Iran retaliated with drone and missile salvos targeting both Israeli territory and US regional assets, triggering emergency airspace closures across multiple Gulf states as governments scrambled to shield their populations from the intensifying cross-border barrage.
